Welcome To Championship Friday!

Welcome to the third greatest day of the year behind only Christmas and the 4th of July!  It is a day where two out of every three players return home with the agony of defeat. At the same time one out of every three players will return home with the thrill of victory.  With the jubilation of knowing that they will have their name engraved on the Training Camp Cup! They will also return home with a Training Camp Cup Champion hat to make sure that their friends, teammates and family members know that they have bragging rights for at least one year!

Team Building Results

Blue won the Scavenger Hunt, picking up two points and making them the regular season champions.

Game #1  White beats Blue 6-3

Blue suffered their first defeat of the regular season.  The Bender, Hextall, Degembe(BHD) line was held in check. They only managed to score two goals this game.  Mason Shorter frustrated them, and broke up any and all plays that they tried to make. The two goals they scored was when Shorter was not on the ice.  They could not handle his presence on the ice. Someone has finally found an answer to the BHD line!!! White’s goals were scored by Malcolm, two by Krausfeldt and one by Knutson and Kylie.  Blues goals were scored by Vittorio and two by Bender.

Game #2  Black beats  Blue 9-5

Blue lost two games in a row!  Stop the presses. We now have a tournament.  Teams have figured out how to beat Blue. It only takes a matter of time before it happens.  What adjustments will coach Mack Knutson make on Championship Friday? This game was a high scoring game.  It ended with a 9-5 victory for Black. In this game Fosco picked up five goals. Rozanski, Composono and Hickman had one goal each.  Blues’ goals were scored by Hextall, Vittorio, and a hat trick by Bender.

Game #3 White vs Black

Fosco continued his torrid pace.  He scored five goals in the first game, and scored his sixth goal of the day just 13 seconds into the second game.  White then had goals by Paschen and Knutson to take a 2-1 lead. Rozanski scored to tie it with 20:47 left, and Knutson scored one minute later, and Paschen scored to make it 4-2.  Rozanski then scored his second of the gameto cut the lead to one. Fosco then scored to tie the game at 4-4. This is when it became Nick Knutson’s breakout game. He put on a goal scoring clinic, which his patient coach, Sam Holy has been waiting for.  Knutson scored four straight goals to give him six for the game.
